Birmingham, West Midlands — Ofsted Registered Supported Accommodation
Haven Support Services operates two supported accommodation homes for 16-18 year olds across Birmingham. Their team of 8 support workers were using a combination of Word documents, paper logbooks, and WhatsApp messages to record daily logs, missing from care incidents, and keywork sessions. When a young person went missing, staff were scrambling to compile grab packs manually — sometimes taking 45 minutes before information reached the police. Their last Ofsted inspection flagged "inconsistent recording of daily interactions" and "incomplete return interview documentation." The registered manager was terrified of the next inspection.
Haven deployed Pinnacle across both homes in under 48 hours. The Missing from Care module was the first thing staff used — pre-built grab packs with young person photos, risk factors, and known associates could now be generated in under 60 seconds. Support workers switched to voice-to-text daily logs, speaking their observations during handover rather than typing them up hours later. Keywork session templates ensured every one-to-one was properly structured with goals and outcomes. Reg 44 and 45 reports were set up with auto-scheduling and guided templates.
“The missing from care module alone was worth switching for. When one of our young people went missing at 2am, the night worker had the grab pack to the police in 45 seconds. Before Pinnacle, that would have taken half an hour of panic and photocopying. When Ofsted came back, the inspector spent 20 minutes reading through our daily logs and said they were "exemplary." I nearly cried. We went from Requires Improvement to Good, and our staff actually enjoy recording their notes now because they just talk.”
